Redmi K30 will be the first phone with 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor

As we tipped earlier some information related to the Redmi K30. Here’s another new information Redmi revealed the camera specs of K30 on Weibo & it is going to be the first smartphone to have a 64 Megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor.

We know that there is a triple camera setup on the rear & a dual-camera setup on the front. But until now, we didn’t know the camera specs. We only knew that there is a primary 64MP camera but didn’t know if it is a Samsung sensor or Sony’s.

In the image above reveals, the Redmi K30 has a primary 64 Megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor, a secondary 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP dedicated macro lens for going as close as 2cm to the subject & a depth sensor.

In the image above it reveals that Redmi K30 is going to be the first smartphone to sport Sony’s IMX686 sensor. The IMX686 is a 1/1.7″ sensor with 4-in-1 pixels having a 1.6-micron pixel size. So, the pixel size if 0.8-micron, but there is pixel-binning to combine four pixels into one, resulting in a 16 Megapixel image with 1.6-micron pixels.
